Our Word: It Has Never Been Easier!

Nowadays, many U.S. universities allow international students to transfer from an institution in their home country in order to complete an undergraduate degree in America. The process is fairly straightforward: you are required to submit an application, test scores and an evaluated transcript (completed by a credential evaluation service in the U.S.).

However, a few important things to note:

  1. Applying as a college student from your home country doesn’t mean you don’t have to submit a TOEFL/IELTS or an SAT score (which is often required for scholarship consideration);
  2. Scholarship funds are much more limited for transfer students and the size of the awards is often smaller;
  3. It may take you longer than 2-3 years depending on how many credits you are able to transfer and be accepted by the U.S. institution;
  4. You are required to submit a course evaluation done by a U.S. credential evaluation service, but some schools do their own evaluations, so be sure to ask;
  5. Selecting the right school also increase the chance of being accepted as well as successful in the U.S.
